DAY 3: OVERCOMING A FEAR OF TECH, is designed to help you elevate your pro status by utilizing awesome technology. A lot of people we speak to are in the dark about how to create professional-looking content – they feel it’s too difficult or too expensive when in fact it doesn’t have to be either. From rethinking your relationship to technology to understanding the basics of video, to how to deal with THE MOST COMMON complaint we hear from yoga teachers using their smartphones to record video, these are some of our best tips and tricks!
STEPS TO TAKE
- Watch todays video and take notes
- Post a short video in the Facebook group using the tag #yogavideochallenge, letting us know what type of camera you are using and what your recording settings are (for example, “iPhone 8, 1080p at 30 frames per second). Additionally, please mention one technology related issue that you find yourself facing regarding video or yoga online.
- Finally, be sure to check out the posts from other challenge participants. I think you’ll be surprised at just how common a fear of technology is. You are not alone in this.

Rick “RedBeard Yogi” Burnett is both an accomplished videographer and an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher.As a successful videographer, Rick has worked with small businesses and entrepreneurs to help them leverage video as means to tell their story and increase their brand awareness. He loves working with other healers to bring their video ideas to life. As a certified e-RYT 500 level yoga teacher, Rick has taught both domestically in the US, and overseas, with a passion for vinyasa, yin, and stand up paddle board yoga.Over the years, Rick has worked with numerous yoga teachers and studios to develop a strategy to help them create professional quality video products. With his scruffy beard, heavily tattooed skin, and sarcastic sense of humor, he might not come off as a Lululemon model, but he is dedicated to making sure that everyone in front of the camera can look as good as one.
