DAY 2: SIMPLE SETUP, is helping you to create your epic home studio and make professional-looking videos even if it’s just you and a phone! From positioning of the camera to hacks and tricks we’ve learned from creating over 3000 videos – today is the day to step out of amateur and slide straight on into pro territory!
RESOURCES
Turn on the Rule of Thirds guidelines for your smartphone camera for better composition.
(Video is how to do it on iPhone/iPad, but the same technique should apply for Android devices)
If you have video that you’ve already shot that you would like to check the composition of, you can overlay THIS file over your videos in any video editing software (iMovie, Filmora, Final Cut Pro, Premiere, etc.)
STEPS TO TAKE
- Watch today’s video and take notes
- Set up your own recording space within your home, office or studio so you are always recording-ready when the ideas strike you!
- Record a short video using the recommended camera height and angle, and describe 1) your takeaways from today’s lesson, 2) your space and what you like about it, 30 as well as any challenges you encounter in using that space.
- For extra credit, record an additional short video intentionally using a high camera angle or poor composition and compare your results.
- Post your video(s) into the Facebook group using the tag in the group #yogavideochallenge so we can keep track of your participation!
